Titan Salvaging Effort Ends

Denver, Colo. -- The Titan IV A-20 salvaging effort has come to a close, according to Air Force officials. Air Force investigators are ending the debris recovery effort after a two-month operation.

Accident investigators said the recovery effort is ceasing because the Navy team has retrieved all that’s possible from the salvaging operation.

"We intend to continue to devote our full attention to determining mishap cause and issuing a final report," according to Maj. Gen. Robert C. Hinson, AIB president.

Accident investigation officials said the final report will be releasable to the public upon completion.
