O Demaskiruyushchikh priznakakh kosmicheskikh sredstv razvedki" by Major L.N. Doda. Voyennaya Mysl' (ISSN 0236-2058), No.10, 1992, pp. 42-47
This is a map which accompanied an article* in the professional journal of the Russian General Staff in 1992. It shows the author's analysis of the operations of U.S. reconnaissance satellites on 17 Jan 1991, the first day of the Desert Storm operation, with ground tracks, satellite types, and times of entry into the combat zone.
The satellite designations on the map are in a letter-number form where the numbers are arbitrary assignments to individual satellites and the Cyrillic letter N (looks like "H") stands for an electrooptical imaging satellite, L (looks like a squared-off lambda) stands for a radar imaging satellite, and F (looks like a phi) stands for an ELINT satellite. The remainder of the text is left as a linguistic exercise for the reader. (ok, "ZONA OBZORA", (3OHA O#3OPA) is, close enough, "field of view". Do the rest yourself. :) )
In the upper right-hand corner are minimaps showing the ground tracks of the satellites for the days 16-19 Jan 1991, but without times.
For 17 January, the map shows the following satellite passes:
Local Satellite Pass Time 0130 L-10 NW-SE from Istanbul to Riyadh 0230 N-12 SW-NE from Tabuk to Mosul 0300 F-5 N-S Kirkuk to central Saudi Arabia 0323 F-11 S-N W of Riyadh to E of Incirlik 0718 F-8 N-S along Iran-Iraq border to E of Riyadh 0730 N-13 NW-SE along Iran-Iraq border to Qatar 1008 L-10 SW-NE from N of Tabuk across northern Iraq 1013 N-9 N-S from Mosul down along 43 E longitude 1038 N-7 N-S over western Iran to Riyadh 1140 N-12 NW-SE from Incirlik to N of Riyadh 1255 N-6 N-S over west-central Iran to W of Dhahran 1357 F-5 S-N from Qatar over west-central Iran 1524 F-11 N-S over west-central Iran to Kuwait City 2012 F-8 S-N up along 39 E longitude 2130 N-13 S-N slightly w of Riyadh to 48 E, 32 N
