Abstract: A fluid dynamic computing method is proposed in which the materials are represented by discrete particles interacting with one another by means of pair forces. Details of technique, accuracy, and stability are discussed in preliminary form. Results are presented of some simple tests of the method, and it is shown that even though considerable development effort is yet required, the method appears to have some desirable properties not present in any other.
