Biography
Prabodh Shrestha is the technology director for the Federation of American Scientists where he is customizing hardware and software solutions to accommodate the multi-media needs of a growing association. As director, Shrestha is the architect of future plans to expand the group’s presence using social networks, virtual environments and utilizing streaming audio and video and online meetings.
His current research focus is on multimedia and 3D technology in a Web 2.0 & virtual world environment.
Prior to joining FAS, Shrestha consulted for various companies, specializing in information technology, multi-media systems, and internet audio and video production. While at the King Publishing Group, he developed applications for online publications with more than 60,000 subscribers. He also produced in-house programs for a nationally broadcast television show that was also viewed online with streaming technology.
Shrestha also worked as a systems engineer, working on a messaging system and a command and control system for the U.S. military, various defense agencies, and NATO allies. From 1997 – 1998, he was a contractor as an IT specialist for the Defense Information System Agency
He earned his bachelors degree in computer science and is working towards a PhD in information systems from the University of Maryland.
