The FEMA Region VI Federal Regional Center (FRC) is located on a 20-acre tract of land donated to the Federal Government by the local citizens in Denton, Texas. This was the first protected underground federal regional emergency operating center built in the nation. Region VI states include Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.

The FEMA National Teleregistration Center (FEMA/NTC), located at 1104 Dallas Drive in Denton, houses a national toll-free telephone bank through which FEMA accepts registrations for disaster assistance. The NTC is equipped to provide guidance and support to disaster victims who wish to register for assistance, express concerns, or who have questions about the various aid programs. The mission of the NTC is to help people throughout the process of recovering from disaster by providing accurate information to callers and ensuring accurate and timely transmission of caller data to disaster relief agencies.
