Jinhua Airbase
29°06'N 119°40'E

This airfield, located immediately south of the town of Jinhua, is almost certainly a military airbase. Based on 1972 CORONA imagery, this base consists of a hard-surface runway that is less than 8,000 feet long. Aside from alert hardstand areas at either end of the runway, there appear to be no revetted hardstands. Also, no weapons storage areas are evident.

Photographic Evaluation Report

High resolution imagery is available from two sources, including declassified CORONA imagery. As of 08 April 2000 Russian 2-meter resolution KVR-1000 imagery coverage was not available via the SPIN-2 service on TerraServer. As of 01 May 2000 archival Space Imaging IKONOS 1-meter imagery available on the CARTERRA™ Archive includes 9 scenes of this area, acquired between 20 January 2000 and 11 February 2000. Of these scenes, however, 5 have heavy cloud cover in excess of the standard 20% threshold, and none of the cloud-free imagery includes Jinhua Airbase.
