Notes:
Dialogue: MLRS fire plans originate from the force FA IFSAS. The FDS can then store in the data base, and execute, up to six fire plans. The number of targets in a fire plan may vary but the plan should not exceed 72 (6 launchers X 12 rockets each) and cannot exceed 108 (9 launchers X 12 rockets each). Every FDS in the battalion, battery, and platoon receives the same program hard drive. After loading the program, the operator must restore the database containing the unit echelon, location and target block numbers, and other initial data. Finally, he stores data in the FM;FDSMOD message. This message contains information on the zone of operations, effects cut off (ECOF) data, reload level for MLRS launchers (one or both pods empty), and the maximum number of rounds to be fired at a target. After initialization is complete and communications established, the operator edits the data base. This is a collection of information including the general area of operations (map mod), meteorological data, down range masks, FSCM and ammunition/fire unit locations.
