1. GENERAL.

    a. References:

        (1) AR 71-31, Management System for Tables of
Organization and Equipment, 20 July 1989.

        (2) TRADOC Reg 71-15, Table of Organization and
Equipment (TOE) Development, 20 December 1991.

    b. Purpose and authority for the preparation and
revisions of Tables of Organization and Equipment (TOE).

        (1) These TOE have been prepared in accordance
with the provisions of current TOE development regulations
and guidance.

        (2) All Equipment Readiness Codes in this TOE have
been reviewed to ensure strict compliance with criteria in
AR 220-1, Unit Status Reporting. They also have been
reviewed to ensure they are aligned at the paragraph level
of detail.

        (3) The unit MARC Code is 11A. This is a combat
unit that operates in the division area. It is a split
based unit that is required to move.

2. EMPLOYMENT.

    a. This company performs command, control, and
communications (C3) and limited air movement flights for
the division. It enhances division C3 by providing aerial
flight for command and control (C2), staff transport,
liaison, air messenger service, radio relay, and other
general support purposes.

    b. With the exception of the limited AVUM provided
by the assigned crew chiefs and basic tool kits, the unit
is dependent on other units for all logistical and
personnel support services. Accordingly, it has little or
no capability for independent operations away from the
parent battalion. It also locates near or with the
Battalion HHC and AVUM Company.

     c. The mission of the Command Aviation Company
usually requires the deployment of its aircraft either
singly or in larger elements of less than platoon or
company size. These aircraft or larger element are
frequently placed under the operational control (OPCON)
or in direct support of another headquarters. The
assigned C3 support missions usually extend over the
entire division sector. These operational conditions
make effective command and control and the provisions
of necessary logistics support for the deployed elements
more difficult.

    d. This TOE does not include provisions which would
restrict its application to a single geographical area.

3. METHODS OF OPERATIONS AND FUNCTION.

GENERAL REMARK. The only personnel requirements listed
in this paragraph are those not covered by criteria and
measurable man-power authorization standards contained
in AR 570-2 or automated analysis related to AR 570-2.

    a. Paragraph 01, Company Headquarters.

        (1) The Company Headquarters provides command,
