  • Aleksandr Dondukov
    Former RF Minister for Industry, Science and Technologies

    Born in 1954 in Kuibyshev, now Samara.      He is a graduate of the Moscow Aviation Institute (1977) and a doctor of technical sciences.

        In 1977-1985 he was an engineer-designer, an assistant to the chief engineer for flight tests, the chief engineer for flight tests in the Aviation Design Bureau named after A.   Mikoyan.

        In 1985-1991 he was a deputy chief designer and the chief designer of the Aviation Design Bureau named after A.   Yakovlev.

        Since 1991 he was the general designer of the Aviation Design Bureau named after A.   Yakovlev, and since 1994 he chaired the Bureau's Board.

        While working for the Yakovlev Bureau, Dondukov took part in designing the Yak-54, Yak-58, Yak-130, Yak-141 and Yak-242 airplanes.

        On May 18, 2000, Dondukov was appointed as the Russian Minister for Industry, Science and Technologies.  (ITAR-TASS 19 May 00 ).
