Airborne Reconnaissance Evaluation and Analysis System (AREAS)
Adroit's Airborne Reconnaissance Evaluation and Analysis System
(AREAS) is a graphics-oriented software tool used to model reconnaissance
systems and analyze their employment. AREAS provides a map display based on
World Database II and Digital Terrain Elevation Data (DTED). Target and threat data are imported from other databases, displayed and edited to support analysis and evaluation.
AREAS uses an interactive track editor to create aircraft
flight paths, based on actual or notional aircraft performance data. Actual or notional sensors, including electro-optical/infrared, synthetic aperture radar and SIGINT
receivers, can be combined with platforms to evaluate potential sensor access and to assess system capabilities and performance.
