AN/TYQ-91/LIN Z05106/M095AH IS COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS
THE "ECHELONS ABOVE CORPS (EAC) ACE (ANALYSIS AND CONTROL
ELEMENT)". IT IS PART OF THE "EAC SET" (SEE A.3. BELOW)
OF ASAS BLOCK II EQUIPMENT, WHICH CONSISTS OF 2 PRIMARY
SUBSYSTEMS--THIS EAC ACE AND THE COMMUNICATIONS CONTROL
SET (CCS): AN/TYQ-63A(V)1 (W/O RADIOS)/LIN Z43165/BOIP
M095AI, AND A SECONDARY SUBSYSTEM--REMOTE WORKSTATIONS
(RWS): AN/TYQ-93/Z72392/M095AC.
1. THE EAC ACE CONSISTS OF 24 WORKSTATIONS, EA COMPRISED
OF BASELINED COMMON HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE (CHS) COMPONENTS
WHICH WORK AT THE TOP SECRET SENSITIVE COMPARTMENTED INFORMA-
TION (TS-SCI) LEVEL AND PROVIDE AUTOMATED DATA PROCESSING IN
THE EAC ACE. EACH WORKSTATION HAS A 19" DIAGONAL SUPER HIGH

4. IF DEPLOYED, SHELTERS/TENTS, TRUCKS AND GENERATORS
REQUIRED TO TRANSPORT AND POWER THE EAC WORKSTATION MODULES,
COMMS, AND OTHER ASIOE MUST BE PROVIDED BY THE UNIT.
B. CAPABILITIES:
1. THE PURPOSE OF ASAS IS TO FUSE INTELLIGENCE FROM VARIOUS
SOURCES TO DEVELOP THE COLLATERAL COMMON RELEVANT ENEMY PICTURE
OF THE BATTLEFIELD. EACH WORKSTATION USES THE BASELINED ASAS
BLOCK II SOFTWARE WHICH PROVIDES INTEGRATED ALL SOURCE (AS)
AND SINGLE SOURCE (SS) FUNCTIONALITY.
a. WORKSTATIONS PERFORMING AS FUNCTIONS PROVIDE SEMI-
AUTOMATED INTELLIGENCE ANALYSIS, PRODUCTION, AND DISSEMINATION
CAPABILITY TO THE ACE. THE AS WORKSTATIONS WILL HAVE THREE
HIGH-LEVEL CATEGORIES OF FUNCTIONALITY: SYSTEMS SERVICES
SUPPORT, COMMUNICATIONS SUPPORT, AND INTELLIGENCE APPLICATIONS.
THE SUPPORTING SOFTWARE WILL BE ORGANIZED INTO THREE MODULES:
SYSTEM SOFTWARE MODULE (SSM); COMMUNICATIONS SOFTWARE MODULE
(CSM); AND APPLICATIONS SOFTWARE MODULE (ASM). EACH OF THESE
MODULES WILL BE DIVIDED INTO COMPUTER SOFTWARE CONFIGURATION
ITEMS (CSCI) WHICH WILL PERMIT THE SIMULTANEOUS PROCESSING
OF BOTH INTERACTIVE AND AUTOMATIC INTELLIGENCE ANALYSIS
ACTIVITIES. THE INTERACTIVE FUNCTIONS REQUIRE THE JUDGEMENT
AND/OR EXPERT KNOWLEDGE OF A SUPERVISOR OR ANALYST. THOSE
AUTOMATIC PROCESSING FUNCTIONS THAT ARE FACTORY-SET OR SYSTEM-
SUPERVISOR-SET WILL BE TRANSPARENT TO THE ANALYST.
b. ALL SOURCE FUNCTIONALITY INCLUDES MAP OPERATIONS,
OVERLAY OPERATIONS, TEMPLATE OPERATIONS, DATABASE UTILITIES/
MANIPULATION, NODE OPERATIONS, HIGH CRITERIA/EVENT ALARM
SETTING, FILE AND USER UTILITIES SUPPORTED BY ANALYTIC TOOLS,
COLLECTION MANAGEMENT OPERATIONS, COMMUNICATIONS/MESSAGE
UTILITIES, OFFICE PRODUCT, AND SYSTEM ADMINISTRATION.
c WORKSTATIONS PERFORMING SINGLE SOURCE FUNCTIONS PROVIDE
SINGLE SOURCE ANALYSIS AND PROCESSING CAPABILITY. FUNCTIONAL-
ITY INCLUDES MAP OPERATIONS, OVERLAY OPERATIONS, TEMPLATE
OPERATIONS, DATABASE UTILITIES MANIPULATION, FILE AND USER
UTILITIES WITH ANALYTIC TOOLS TAILORED TO THE SUPPORTED SOURCE
OPERATIONS (SIGINT, IMINT, CI/HUMINT), ASSET MANAGEMENT, OFFICE
PRODUCT SUITE, COMMUNICATIONS/MESSAGE UTILITIES, AND SYSTEM
ADMINISTRATION. SS WORKSTATIONS INTERFACE WITH VARIOUS ORGANIC
SENSORS, EXTERNAL DATA SOURCES THROUGH THE JOINT DEFENSE
INTELLIGENCE SUPPORT SERVICES (JDISS) OVER STANDARD COMMU-
NICATIONS LINKS.
d THE AS WORKSTATIONS INTERFACE, VIA STANDARD COMMUNI-
CATIONS LINKS, WITH THE WORKSTATIONS IN THE SS ENCLAVE WITHIN
THE ACE AND WITH THE REMOTE WORKSTATIONS (RWS) OUTSIDE THE
ACE USED FOR COLLATERAL PROCESSING.
e. CCS/Z43165/BOIP M095AI PROVIDES THE NECESSARY SECURITY
INTERFACES BETWEEN THE TS-SCI ACE ASAS WORKSTATIONS AND
COLLATERAL LEVEL RWS'S OUTSIDE THE ACE, AS WELL AS OTHER ABCS
PLATFORMS. CCS PROVIDES ACCESS TO LOCAL AREA COMMUNICATIONS
FOR THE EAC IEW NODE A WELL AS COMMUNICATIONS ACCESS THROUGH
ARMY SIGNAL CORPS SYSTEMS AND IEW DEDICATED SYSTEMS. IT
RECEIVES AND RELAYS INFORMATION FROM MULTIPLE COLLECTORS
AND SENSORS TO INTELLIGENCE PROCESSING ELEMENTS.
C. EMPLOYMENT: ASSIGNED TO THE ACE W/IN EAC INTEL COMPANY
(EACIC). UNITS CAN CONFIGURE THEIR WORKSTATIONS TO BEST
MEET THEIR MISSION NEEDS.
D. BASIS OF ISSUE: 1 PER FORCE PROJECTION BDE EACIC
(ECHELONS ABOVE CORPS INTELLIGENCE COMPANY)
E. POWER REQUIREMENTS: POWER SOURCE = IN GARRISON, THE
WORKSTATIONS UTILIZE COMMERCIAL POWER. IF DEPLOYED, THE
EAC ACE MUST BE POWERED BY A MINIMUM 30 KW GENERATOR.
POWER REQUIREMENT = 120/208 VAC (+6% TO -12%), 50/60 HZ
(+3% TO -3%), THREE PHASE TO THE M40 POWER DISTRIBUTION
BOX AND SINGLE PHASE OUTPUT FROM THE DISTRIBUTION BOX TO
THE INDIVIDUAL WORKSTATIONS. UPS POWER INTERFACES 80-132
VAC (47-66 HZ), 166-264 VAC (47-66 HZ) AND 22-32 VDC.
F. TRANSPORTATION REQUIREMENTS: EAC ACE IS TRANSPORTABLE
BY C130, C141, C5, C17 FIXED WING AND CH-47 ROTARY WING
AIRCRAFT, AND BY RAIL.

b. THE CHS-2 COMPONENTS WILL BE SUPPORTED USING THE
SUPPLY AND MAINTENANCE CONCEPT APPROVED FOR CHS-2 COMPONENTS.
OPERATORS WILL PERFORM FAULT ISOLATION DOWN TO LRU USING
TECHNICAL MANUALS AND DIAGNOSTIC SOFTWARE. MOS 33W WILL
VERIFY SUSPECTED FAULTY LRU'S AND REMOVE-AND-REPLACE
ACTIONS AT THE UNIT LEVEL. CHS-2 COMPONENTS ARE SUPPORTED
BY CONTRACTOR WARRANTY (LIFE OF CONTRACT, 1995-2005).
c. THE COMMERCIAL-OFF-THE-SHELF (COTS) COMPONETS WILL BE
SUPPORTED USING MOS 33W AT THE UNIT AND DIRECT SUPPORT (DS)
LEVELS. BEYOND DS, THE COMPONETS WILL BE EVACUATED TO DESIG-
NATED GOVERNMENT OR CONTRACTOR GENERAL SUPPORT (GS) FACILITY
OR DEPOT FOR REPAIR. SPARES ARE TO BE REQUISITIONED THROUGH
THE SUPPLY SYSTEM AND DEPOT REPARABLE UNSERVICEABLES ARE TO
BE TURNED IN THROUGH THE SUPPLY SYSTEM FOR REPAIR.
d. POST DEPLOYMENT SOFTWARE SUPPORT WILL BE PROVIDED BY
CECOM SOFTWARE ENGINEERING CENTER (SEC).
