Similar efforts on drones as in the GE Army are underway in the Navy, with the Navy drone SEAMOS, and the Airforce with a joint endurance UAV.

This slide shows the main tasks, the GE-Armed Forces are planing to be solved by UAVs in future.

The overall concept for tactical UAVs is described on this viewgraph. It gives an idea of the future battlefield from the UAV point of view with

- Target Acquisition,

- Reconnaissance (standoff as well as penetrating),

- Surveillance,

- Communication relais,

- Communication and Radar Jamming,

- Strike (anti tank) and

- SEAD (suppression of enemy air defense).

Allthough there are many possible tasks for drones, the main usage of drones is and will be RISTA.
