Slide 16 of 67
This slide shows the roadmap for Naval TUAVs and reiterates the VTOL path.
The first item is to come to closure with Outrider. It is evident that the Outrider will not meet the Naval requirement of operations from all air capable ships.
We are in the process of collecting data from OPTEVFOR and will draft a Naval position in coordination with the Marine Corps with regard to the Outrider. JROCM 135-95 allows for the initiation of a separate shipboard TUAV effort if the ACTD solution falls short of the desired performance requirements. This will lead to the initiation of the VTOL effort.
The VTOL ORD was signed out of the Marine Corps on 11 May and is progressing through the Joint staffing process.
