AFOSI receives Organizational Excellence Award

ANDREWS AIR FORCE BASE, Md. (AFPN) -- The Air Force Office of Special Investigations has earned its seventh Air Force Organizational Excellence Award for exceptionally meritorious service from Oct. 1, 1995, to Sept. 30, 1997.

The award, presented on behalf of Acting Secretary of the Air Force F. Whitten Peters, recognizes units that have performed exceptionally meritorious service.

People assigned to the command during this time are eligible to wear the award. Included are members assigned to AFOSI headquarters, the command's field investigative regions, squadrons, detachments and operating locations, and the Air Force Special Investigations Academy.

Reserve members assigned to AFOSI are also eligible to wear the award.

AFOSI members should have their personnel records automatically updated. People previously assigned to AFOSI during this period should contact their local personnel office to make sure their records are updated. Wear of the ribbon is authorized immediately.

AFOSI is a field operating agency with headquarters at Andrews. It has been the Air Force's major investigative service since Aug. 1, 1948.
