Ms. Beatrice Gonzales was selected as the 1998 USAF Outstanding Supply Person of the Year award winner in the GS-01 to GS-07 grade category.

Gonzales spearheaded supply processing of 250 projects that included 1,800 line items totaling $250,000. Her excellence in material processing supported the 668th Logistics Squadron’s Engineering and Installation and Mobile Engineering, Alteration and Repair missions that Air Intelligence Agency units rely on worldwide.

Identifying over $100,000 in excess stocks during a consolidation of two warehouse functions strengthened her bid for Air Force Supply Person of the year. This effort resulted in the reutilization of this excess material, and a 50 percent increase in available warehouse space for the squadron. She also coordinated the use of excess project material from completed projects, saving an additional $7,000 in material costs for future projects.

Additionally, Gonzales established procedures to pre-stage materials for oversees projects. This provided for the shipment of materials far in advance of deploying installation teams, saving the Air Force 70 percent of the transportation costs by being able to use surface shipment rather than air.
