Two AIA employees selected for Civilian Career Management Program

Two Air Intelligence Agency civilians have been selected for the Civilian Career Management Program, a joint AIA and Air Force initiative to develop high-potential civilian employees for future managerial and leadership roles.

The two, Kimila Kercheville of AIA headquarters and Steve Doucette of the 67th Intelligence Wing, all in San Antonio, were selected by the CCMP’s Career Management Board after application and recommendation by the selectees’ director/commander. Kercheville will be reassigned to supervisory duties within AIA, while Doucette will be reassigned to the Pentagon.

According to Dennis Alvey, AIA executive director, the CCMP provides job assignments, as well as training and educational opportunities intended to broaden knowledge, skills and abilities in intelligence and intelligence-related functions. "Assignments," he explained, "are managerial or technical/operational and may cross occupational lines."

Alvey said the two join eight others who have already been selected for the program. These include Michael Kuchinos, AIA; Mark Butler, U.S. Air Forces in Europe; Robert Mrak, National Air Intelligence Center; David Osborn, on detail to the State Department in Washington, DC; John Pede, Keith Thomas and Mark Posey, AIA; and Brian Veneklase, Joint Command and Control Warfare Center. "The program," Alvey said, "is designed to enhance job knowledge and skills and allows us to keep highly-qualified civilians on our rolls."

Alvey also emphasized that the CCMP is not just for the intelligence career field, but is open to all qualified non-temporary civilian employees assigned to HQ USAF/XOI and AIA who are eligible for positions in grades GS-13 to GS-15.

Applications will be accepted during recruiting periods which are opened as requirements are identified. The CCMP is managed by a Career Management Board, consisting of senior civilian and military representatives from HQ USAF/XOI and major AIA organizations.
