What is C3a? C3a is the immune system's emergency signal flare. Chemicals called complements are dissolved in the fluid surrounding most body tissue. When these chemicals touch bacteria they explode, releasing chemical signals. Macrophages follow these chemical signals to find invading bacteria.
What is CXCL8? CXCL8 is a chemokine produced by macrophages and other cell types such as epithelial cells. CXCL8 recognize antigen patterns like LPS on bacteria.
