Immune Attack’s content is geared for middle school through senior level high school biology.

QUICK START GAME GUIDE can be downloaded here.   The one-page Summary of the Learning Technologies Program at FAS, and a one-page summary of the Immune Attack project can be read and downloaded here. Details of each game level are on these pages.

Another great learning game, Discover Babylon by FAS is free to download HERE!

Check out the SCIENCE of Immune Attack, a blog about nanotubes, blood pressure, drug design and all manner of cool small things.

To play Immune Attack, users control a microscopic robot and navigate through a first-person 3D body, completing a series of stepwise missions to detect a bacterial infection and activate the appropriate defensive immune cells. These stepwise missions follow the actual biological process that occurs during an infection and how immune cells are stimulated to kill the bacteria.

Immune Attack is a supplemental teaching tool, designed to be used in conjunction with middle school and high school biology textbooks.  Immune Attack introduces molecular biology and cellular biology in detail that is usually reserved for college students.  However, it uses the familiar and motivational video game format to introduce the strange and new world of cells and molecules.  Teachers are encouraged to refer to Immune Attack as an example of biological processes, and to give FAS feedback on how you have used Immune Attack in your classroom.

To start playing on any game level or to watch a particular in-game cinematic, go to the main menu, choose instructor menu and enter the password: abc.

We will be hosting workshops for teachers in Summer 2009 to introduce teachers to Immune Attack 2.0 and to begin a dialogue on how to use Immune Attack to introduce the interactions of cells and molecules prior to formalizing and naming the processes in class.
