I have the same problem.
I have a Toshiba laptop: Intel Core2 1,66 Ghz, 2 Gb RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 7300 and DirectX 9.0c.
I tried it windowed and full-screen and closing all other programs
I believe your processor could be the problem, we recommend a 2 GhZ processor.

I tried to shutdown all non-system processes but cannot manage to run the game properly.
I also tried to run it windowed and all i obtain is the same black screen.
but windowed, lol.
Thanks for your suggestions anyway.
If i find the cause (or the solution) i'll post it.

Dear TesTer,
Thanks for writing. Yours in an unusal problem, and like you, I guess it is hardware related, too. Immune Attack works well with Windows XP and Windows Vista. Here is a guess:
You might have too little available RAM, even though your system has 1MB, maybe your RAM is all used up with other programs. I assume you have shut down all other programs, before starting Immune Atack. But perhaps you have processes that are still running and using up RAM. Go to Task Manager while Immune Attack is not running, and see if you have many processes running, and see how much RAM is being used. I know you have to be careful about which processes to stop. You can also set your computer's “start up” items. Get advice if you haven't done such things before.
I also invite others to post in case they have other suggestions.
Sincerely,
Melanie

I'm having problems running immune attack.
When i start it, i obtain only a black screen. The CPU works but nothing happens, it's totally locked and i always have to quit using ctr+alt+del.
I have an asus laptop that (i think) meets minimum requirements: 1.6 GHz proc, 1 Gb RAM, NVIDIA GoForce 6100, DirectX 9.0c installed
i'm not sure if video chipset uses system's ram.
i also tried to reinstall the game without results.
somethings wrong with the hardware maybe?
