Katie Colten is the Communications and Membership Manager at FAS. In this role, she is responsible for coordinating FAS’s external communications, social media, event programming and website maintenance. She is also the co-editor of the Public Interest Report, FAS’s quarterly journal for science and security.
Additionally, Katie manages FAS’s extensive membership pool, encouraging individual donor involvement and partnership in FAS activities and projects.
Prior to FAS, she served as the foundation manager for the Foundation for Community Betterment, a national non-profit organization, managing donor and board relations. In this role, she managed and assisted eight regional chapters and an eighteen person board with fundraising, communications and event logistics, implementing an average of twelve events per year. Katie also worked at the Curley Company as an Event Specialist, assisting in the execution of large scale events and conferences in the Washington, D.C. area.
Katie received her Bachelor’s degree from St. Lawrence University where she studied psychology and Spanish.
